In the NFL, there are a lot of speedy players. There are, however, those within this group of quick feet that are the quickest of the fast. In today’s NFL, two wide receivers, DK Metcalf of the Seattle Seahawks and Tyreek Hill of the Miami Dolphins, are at the top of this quick list.

But who’s the fastest?

We may find out shortly, and a worthy organization may get $50,000 as a result.

DK Metcalf claims to be quicker than Tyreek Hill.

Former NFL tight end Shannon Sharpe interviewed Seattle Seahawks wide receiver DK Metcalf on his Club Shay Shay podcast about his life and career.

Metcalf’s participation in the 2021 USA Track and Field Golden Games and Distance Open in Walnut, California, was ultimately brought up. Trial races for the Tokyo Olympics were held during the event.

Metcalf competed in the 100-meter dash against 16 of the quickest sprinters in the world. The former Ole Miss pass-catcher finished 15th in his heat with a timing of 10.37 seconds. While it wasn’t quite quick enough for the Olympics, it was nonetheless impressive, particularly for someone who stands 6-foot-4 and weighs 235 pounds and only trained for a few weeks before to the tournament.

Sharpe questioned Metcalf whether he feels he is as quick as Miami Dolphins WR Tyreek “Cheetah” Hill while discussing Metcalf’s track and field aspirations. He answered affirmatively, telling the Hall of Fame TE:

I was given a new kind of speed. I was given a DK speed. Like a cheetah, with cheetah speed? I was given DK speed. That’s simply my opinion.

Tyreek Hill’s speed vs. Dk Metcalf’s

Sharpe issued a challenge to Metcalf after he claimed to be quicker than Hill.

Sharpe remarked into the camera, “[Tyreek], you heard this dude.” “‘Reek, you’ll have 48 hours to reply to this guy once it’s published.’ This guy claims to be faster than you.”

Hill heard the call and answered it.

Tyreek Hill responded to Metcalf’s challenge on social media.

If you win, you may donate the money to whatever charity you wish!!! I dm’d you, and you were terrified. https://t.co/zVy03vDOf5 I got receipts

Tyreek Hill clearly heard DK Metcalf’s shout and Shannon Sharpe’s challenge. He reacted on Twitter the same day that a video of Metcalf’s accusations went viral.

If the Seahawks wideout defeated the Dolphins pass-catcher in a race, Hill pledged to put up $50,000 of his own money and give it to the charity of Metcalf’s choice. But “Cheetah” didn’t end there.

He also said that he had informally challenged Metcalf to a race, claiming that the large guy was “scared” to take on him. Hill even claimed to have “receipts” proving everything.

However, Metcalf tweeted his own receipts 20 minutes later. He posted a screenshot of a DM conversation between the two showing that Hill called him out when he was recovering from an injury and wearing a walking boot.

All of this back-and-forth is entertaining, but it doesn’t seem like a $50K charity footrace is any closer to occurring, which is unfortunate for NFL fans who would want to see it.

The two explosive wide receivers have had a crazy offseason.

While a 100-yard race between DK Metcalf and Tyreek Hill is unlikely, the two lightning-quick wide outs have a lot going on this summer.

The Kansas City Chiefs sold Hill to the Miami Dolphins for first-, second-, and fourth-round selections in 2022, as well as fourth- and sixth-round picks in the 2023 draft, in one of the largest and most surprising moves of the 2022 offseason.

He now swaps his perennial contender status and All-Pro quarterback Pat Mahomes for Tua Tagovailoa, a poor third-year quarterback, and a Dolphins team that hasn’t reached the playoffs since 2016.

Metcalf, meantime, lost his Super Bowl-winning quarterback, Russell Wilson, to the Denver Broncos in a trade. He’s now the target of trade speculations, despite the Seahawks’ refusal to deal the Pro Bowl pass-catcher so far.

Hill and Metcalf will likely be two of the most intriguing and thrilling WRs to follow in 2022 and beyond, even if they don’t race for charity.
