The Legend of Zelda Skyward Sword Eldin Key Piece Locations

One of The Legend of Zelda Skyward Sword’s more notable sidequests is the Eldin Key, a piece of treasure that can be found in the Lost Woods and Aonuma has confirmed that this key is not just an Easter Egg, but also a key to the future of The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword.

You’ve completed a quest, obtained an Eldin key, and are now in possession of the final piece to the map of the Lanayru Desert. But, where to go from here? While there are a lot of secret areas and hidden treasures in Skyward Sword, each of them has a corresponding key piece and, therefore, a corresponding location on the map that will lead you to that final secret. So, where should you go first?

The Legend of Zelda Skyward Sword is a great game with tons of hidden secrets, and these special key pieces will help you find them all!

One of the most difficult parts of the second dungeon is the Skyward Sword Eldin Key pieces puzzle. It requires some retracing over the majority of the Eldin area, as well as dowsing to locate the real pieces.

At the very least, you need it until you arrived here. Our Eldin Key Pieces guide for Skyward Sword shows you where to look for each one.

The positions of each of the components are shown on the map below. Below that, we go through how to locate all five parts in more depth.

1st Key Piece

The first component is just a short distance away. Turn left as you face the temple and go to the edge of the stone floor. On your left, there’s a fissure in the earth. To obtain the component, dig there. If you wish, you may continue down the route and dig up an air flow to locate a Goddess Cube on the cliff above.

2nd Key Piece

From where you found the first piece, turn south. Destroy the tower before sliding down and digging up Eldin Key Piece #2.

3rd Key Piece

Return to the temple door, but this time turn away from it and toward the sand slide. On the left, you’ll see a broken wall (marked by an X in the image above). Throw a bomb flower at it and dash through the narrow tunnel. The section concludes with the third essential component.

4th Key Piece

Link standing before an Eldin Temple bridge over a lava pit.

This one takes some work. Deal with the tower north of the temple by going around the tunnel north of the temple. Follow the route along a ledge, then jump across to the vines and climb up. Extend the bridge by hitting the top button, and prepare to move quickly.

You’ll catch fire in the next room since it’s superheated. You’ll encounter a sequence of sand ramps if you dash through the chamber (don’t go up to the next level). Keep to the right to catch an air draft and land on the platform where the fourth piece awaits.

5th Key Piece

Return to the ground and follow the route around. You’ll eventually come across a bomb-able wall, so throw a bomb blossom at the “X” indicated place and enter to get the last piece.
