Renowned Trainer Tim Grover Just Revealed the Biggest Compliment Michael Jordan Ever Gave Him

It’s not often that sports trainers reveal secrets of the trade, but it seems Tim Grover is willing to share his thoughts on his famous client Michael Jordan. The legendary athlete and former Chicago Bulls star has been a longtime friend of Grover’s, so the pair are very familiar with one another (Grover even calls him “old man Jordan”). So, when Jordan called Grover, he was in the middle of a game. “I was the trainer at the time, and he called me,” Grover said. “I said, ‘What’s up, Mike?’ He said, ‘I’ve got a sore shoulder.’ I said, ‘Well, what’s your rotation like?’ He said, ‘I’m shooting a little bit,

Tim Grover has heard it all, whether it’s “You don’t know Jordan” or “You don’t know anything about basketball.” Grover, who has trained numerous NBA stars, and has often shared insight and advice with his Twitter followers over the years, just revealed the compliment Jordan gave him after his first workout: “I told him, ‘I can’t believe you’re working out with Tim, you’re like a newborn baby coming out of the womb.’”

In an interview with the New York Post , Michael Jordan has revealed the biggest compliment he received from the GOAT. “He just told me that he loved my game,” said Grover, who has trained dozens of NBA stars including Kobe Bryant, LeBron James, Ray Allen, Carmelo Anthony and Dwyane Wade. “He said that every time he watched me he got so excited and was looking at his watch saying, ‘I gotta get to the gym and get to the gym,’” Grover continued. “He said my game reminded him of Magic Johnson, because my footwork is so much like Magic’s. He said he’s my biggest fan and he’s rooting for me.”

Tim Grover was given 30 days by Michael Jordan. Jordan was Grover’s first professional athlete to work with, and it occurred by chance. Those 30 days evolved into a long-term partnership for the two. Grover recently talked about his experience with the former Chicago Bulls player and shared Jordan’s greatest praise.

Tim Grover, who is he?

Grover is the son of two Indian parents, which means only one thing to him.

Grover stated on the Endless Hustle podcast this week, “Both my parents are of Indian origin.” “If you know anything about Indian parents, you know that they have two educational and employment choices. The first is a doctor, and the second is also a doctor. That was the end of it.”

Grover said that he had no idea what he wanted to pursue in college. He fell in love with exercise science when one of his counselors recommended it. He informed his parents that he wanted to work as a personal trainer for elite sportsmen. His father grudgingly agreed to let him follow his dream, but he still had to pass the medical school admission test.

He said, “I completely blew it the first time I took it.” “I purposefully botched it, and my father says, ‘Nice try.’ ‘I’ve already registered you for the next one.’

Grover aced his second attempt and struck a bargain with his parents. He vowed that if he didn’t succeed in his training, he would enroll in medical school.

He spent the following several years working at a fitness club for minimum pay ($3.35 an hour), and he considers it one of the greatest things that ever happened to him.

“I had all of the training information, but no actual experience,” he said. “I was able to devote more time to my art as a result of this.”

Tim Grover shared Michael Jordan’s greatest praise to him.

Grover’s strategy worked. He spent the most of his career with Jordan then went on to work with other big-name athletes such as Kobe Bryant. He and Jordan collaborated on projects that had never been attempted before.

“Other than boxers and Olympic athletes, Michael was the only professional athlete I knew of who had someone dedicated just to him,” Grover added. “You’re the one in control of my health. You’re responsible for my hydration, nutrition, injury prevention, and strength and conditioning.

“Michael was the one who initially opened the door and said, ‘Hey listen, find that person who knows what you don’t know and let them help you improve your abilities.’”

Jordan increased in size and strength. The amount of games Jordan was able to play without injury, according to Grover, is the best testimony to his exercise success. Jordan only missed six games in a ten-year period, according to Grover.

Grover remembered the greatest praise MJ had ever given him for his training.

“A lot of people would come up to Michael and ask, ‘Can I use Grover?’” says Michael. Grover remarked. “Michael’s catchphrase was, ‘I don’t have to pay Grover to teach me.’ I pay him not to train anybody else,’ which is the highest praise you can give someone. He wouldn’t let me work with anybody else for the first three years.”

When Grover first met Jordan, there was a little snag.

Grover met Jordan by chance and started working with him. Jordan read a newspaper story when he first started his career that stated he was tired of the Detroit Pistons beating him physically. Grover sent 14 handwritten notes, one to each Bulls player save the team’s star. Jordan, on the other hand, discovered an unopened note in the locker room and had his staff call the trainer.

Grover told Endless Hustle, “I received a call from the athletic trainer at the time and he says, ‘Hey, we have someone who’s interested in your services.” “They didn’t tell me who it was,” says the narrator. I assumed it was one of the guys that didn’t get much playing time. They hammered me for three months on my knowledge and practicals. They wanted to make sure I understood what I was doing, but I had no idea who I was being interviewed for.

“After three months, they told me, ‘We want you to meet the customer.’ ‘This is the address.’ I had no idea who it was since they didn’t inform me. It’s on the outskirts of town. This is in front of the large guarded mansion. I ring the doorbell twice, once for the first time and once for the second time. I ring it a third time and get no response, so I’m like, okay. I’ve just recently been set up. Michael Jordan is the one who finally opens the door.

“I’m fortunate in that I’m not a star-struck person. Because I done my research, I’m prepared for anything they throw at me. Michael welcomed me into his home.

That’s when the one little snag arose.

“I was wearing Converse workout shoes,” he said. “I had to remove them before entering the house.”
