This guide is to help you understand the Nier:Automata Sub Index and how they affect the rarity and value of your items based on the number of sub data of a Nier Automata item.

The “Nier: Automata” franchise has a wealth of resources for reskinners to use to make their own Nier fanart. While basic designs can be seen all over the world, there are certain assets that are more rare. Last week, I wrote a guide on how to obtain a “Nier Family” card. Now, it’s time to go into more detail on how to obtain rare Nier cards, such as the “Nier: Automata” “NieR” card.

Nier is a series of RPG games that was first released back in 2014 for the PlayStation 3 and PlayStation 4. The first entry in the series, Nier, saw a release in 2011 and was met with mixed reception, with fans of the game praising its unique art style and strong narrative, while others were left disappointed with its gameplay.

Reincarnation of Nier Memoirs are critical components of your loadout. Each one boosts a character’s stats in a different way. They may be improved to make them more potent, and they also have a set-bonus that provides characters a boost to certain passives. So, what are them and how do you acquire them?

Memoirs may only add a little amount of Force to your total, but they offer (occasionally) massive boosts to your passive skills. These may be utilized to construct your perfect character build, whether it’s based on critical hit probability, attack %, agility, hit points, or something else entirely.

Memoirs come in four rarities, similar to virtually everything else in Nier Reincarnation: 1-Star, 2-Star, 3-Star, and 4-Star. Of course, 4-Star versions are the most desirable, but overlooking lesser-known variations would be a mistake. Despite their overall rating, certain 1/2/3-Star Memoirs are more suitable for specific builds and offer greater stat boosts.

Completing Dungeons, particularly The Dynast’s Memories and The Officer’s Memories, will grant you Memoirs. You’ll receive a handful of these things as a reward for finishing the narrative, but the majority of your farming will take place in the dungeons described above.

By navigating to the Subquests menu and clicking on either The Dynast’s Memories or The Officer’s Memories on the left side of the screen, you can see which Memoirs drop from which Dungeons. The available goods inside that Dungeon will be shown in the center of the screen, but others may drop.

For example, despite the fact that “Destiny: The Wanted Man” is not mentioned as a Memoir that drops, I got it from The Dynast’s Memories Dungeon.

Outside of the aforementioned facts, there are a couple things to know about Memoirs: what the Sub Number is and how Enhancement works.

To locate your Memoirs, first go to the main menu and choose “Enhance.” Select “Memoirs” from the drop-down menu to get a list of what you presently have. After that, you may sort by Star Rarity and Sub Number.

What is a Memoir’s Sub Number? We’ve previously discussed Star Rarity. A Memoir’s Sub Number is the number that appears within the diamond in the upper left corner. The shows how many main and secondary skills are unlocked for a Memoir at any one moment.

Every Memoir has a single primary ability and four secondary abilities, making for a total of five abilities. At Level 1, for example, you will see that there is one primary and one secondary ability unlocked. The number 2 will be in the Sub Number diamond for that Memoir.

Memoirs may attain a maximum overall level of 15; but, unlike characters and weapons, they cannot be climbed to raise their level ceiling. Every time you Enhance a Memoir, though, you have a chance to get a new skill or enhance the talents you currently have.

Prioritize and Enhance Memoirs that have previously been unlocked for secondary skills. This may or may not work depending on your intended construct and the Memoirs you’ve drawn, but if all else is equal, Enhance a Sub Number 5 Memoir over a Sub Number 2 Memoir.

Memoir Synergy comes last.

Memoir synergy may be crucial or completely useless. It all depends on the build you want to go for and the abilities you want to focus on in connection to the Memoirs you’ve acquired.

So, how can you know whether the Memoirs you’ve collected are compatible?

Select any of your characters from the “Loadout” screen. On the right side of the screen, you can see the Memoirs you currently have equipped. The Memoirs are synergized if they are linked by a white line and have red chevrons on them.

This indicates that they belong to the same recollection or narrative, such as “Musings of the Hunter.” Press and hold the Memoir’s icon in either the Loadout screen or the Enhancement menu to see which memory/story it belongs to. Look beneath the star and Memoir name in the upper left corner; the text there reveals the memory/story.

When you have two Memoirs in the same memory/story, your character receives a Small Set Bonus. When you have three of a kind, you get a Large Set Bonus.

That’s pretty much all there is to know about Memoirs in Nier Reincarnation. When feasible, take advantage of their ability boosts and choose the best option for your chosen build and style. Consider reading some of our other guides for additional information on Nier Reincarnation.

It’s been a while since now. I’ve been pretty busy with school and homework. There was a time where I used to play Nier. I didn’t play it much, but I did enjoy playing it. I could still remember the feeling from the start of the game to the end. I used to play it all the time, after all. But then, I stopped playing. I didn’t play it because of school, I just didn’t have the desire to play. I didn’t play it because I didn’t have an internet connection, I just didn’t feel like it. That was it. I was playing Nier. Just, not actively.. Read more about nier reincarnation and let us know what you think.
