In his recent memoir, Mike Tyson has recounted his incredible and harrowing ordeal with drug addiction in the aftermath of his infamous 1991 assault on ex-wife Robin Givens. Tyson has claimed that his life was saved by altered states of consciousness he reached on the drug psilocybin mushrooms.

In an interview with Rolling Stone magazine, former heavyweight champion Mike Tyson admitted that he was “almost suicidal” before taking a handful of psychedelic mushrooms. Tyson, who retired in 2005 after losing his last fight, said he was overworked and underpaid for the work he did with his foundation, which helped at-risk youth. “I was in a dark place,” Tyson told Rolling Stone. “I was depressed, I was almost suicidal, I was on a mission to destroy myself, I just felt like I was going to be stuck in this place forever.”

Mike Tyson is no stranger to experimenting with drugs. Tyson is not only an avid smoker and advocate of cannabis, but he has experimented with all hallucinogenic drugs. But for the former world boxing champion, it’s more than just entertainment. Tyson admitted in a recent interview that magic mushrooms saved his life when he was going through a dark period. Tyson is now a strong supporter of the legalization of psychedelic substances, claiming that they can improve the world.

But his passion for getting high goes far beyond just smoking weed. The famous boxer has long used psilocybin mushrooms, as well as several other hallucinogenic drugs. Mushrooms, as they are popularly known, can cause hallucinations and even a change in the perception of time and space. In medicine, psilocybin mushrooms are used to treat depression and anxiety and to overcome addictions. Last year, during an appearance on Logan Paul’s Impaulsive podcast, Tyson admitted to eating a ton of magic mushrooms and going to the gym to work out. He even swallowed four grams of the substance live during an interview. It helps me improve, he said. When Tyson was asked how the legalization of psychedelic drugs would affect the world, he made no secret of his answer. I think it would be the best thing since the 21st century, he said.

Tyson admits psychedelic mushrooms saved his life

Tyson knows firsthand how psilocybin mushrooms can help with depression. In a recent interview with Reuters, he even admitted that magic mushrooms saved his life. To think of where I was – almost suicidal – and now. Isn’t life a journey? Tyson said. It’s a great drug, and people don’t look at it that way. Tyson struggled with depression during his heyday as a boxer and even after he left the ring, and he claims psilocybin mushrooms are the reason for his current life.

Tyson supports legalization of psychedelics: I think it is good for the world

. In his recent interview, Tyson didn’t just talk about how magic mushrooms saved his life. He also favored the legalization of psilocybin and other psychedelic drugs for medical purposes. I think it’s good for the world, he told Reuters. If you put 10 people who don’t like each other in a room and give them psychedelics, they will take pictures of each other. Put 10 people who don’t like each other in a room, give them alcohol, and they will all shoot. This is a real conversation. Tyson has partnered with Wesana, a popular bioscience company, to spread the word about the benefits of psilocybin and advocate for the legalization of psychedelics across the country.
