Getting into Kobe Bryant’s inner circle throughout his 20-year NBA career wasn’t easy. You had to gain his respect by putting out a constant effort on and off the court, and Wade did just that to establish and maintain a strong connection with Bryant.

“Kobe didn’t have a lot of connections early on. Last year, during a live AMA session with Bleacher Report, Wade said, “I had an opportunity to construct one with Kobe’s respect.” “I could contact him at any moment, and he could call me back. That’s one of the friendships I’m most proud of. It was extra wonderful to be able to have one with one of my all-time favorite players.”

Despite the fact that Bryant and Wade had a few memorable fights during their careers, they never met in the NBA Finals.

With one piece of advice, Bryant motivated Wade to change his game.

Have you ever wondered why Wade’s offensive game became to resemble Bryant’s as he grew older? The calculated back-downs on the baseline, the amazing patience with the ball in his hands, and the silky pull-up jumpers from the elbow were all Kobe-esque.

There’s a reason for it, after all.

Wade revealed to Tiger Woods a great piece of instruction Bryant offered him that has stayed with him ever since during a recent edition of Golf Digest’s A Round with Tiger: Celebrity Playing Lessons.

This is something Kobe taught me. Kobe was a spotter. So he’d be aware of things like the elbow. Isn’t it true that you have to get there? ‘If I get to that place right there, that’s a money location for me, therefore I need to go there,’ he realized. He wasn’t gazing at the rim, either. He was looking at the location and had just arrived there. And he knew it would be cash if he arrived at the location. It’s insane. As a result, I learnt it from him. Okay, so he played angles and spots, I thought. I began to experiment with angles and spots at this point.

Dwyane Wade

That clarifies a lot.

D-Wade is attempting to implement Kobe’s instruction on the golf course.

Wade has to keep his competitive fire burning now that he’s gone from the NBA. He’s been doing it on the golf course thus far.

Wade questioned Woods during his February session how Bryant’s basketball approach of identifying places on the floor may transfer to the golf course, and Woods replied he’s searching for areas and angles on the green every time he sets up a putt.

Wade’s golf game still needs improvement, but with Kobe’s guidance and Tiger’s teachings at his disposal, the sky’s the limit.
