After a record-breaking rookie NFL season, Packers wide receiver Randall Cobb is already looking ahead to his sophomore campaign. In a recent interview with the Wisconsin State Journal, he discussed his goals for the 2011 season, and his expectations for the upcoming season. “I’m sure I’ll be making big plays, too,” he said. “I always lead the NFL in big plays, so I’m sure I’ll be number one again.”

In case you haven’t been paying attention since the NFL draft, the world’s premier football league has changed significantly over the last few years.

Enthusiasts of all sports know that it’s all about the little things. Whether it’s a quarterback who reads the defense, a hitter who tracks the ball, or a hero who chooses when and how to make plays, the little things are what separate the great from the rest.

We’ve all seen quarterback battles before, but does the Chicago Bears have one given that everyone knows Justin Fields is their long-term solution?

Whether you consider their position a challenge or not, Andy Dalton will be the Bears’ starting quarterback in 2021, as the Bears have said throughout the summer. So, as Dalton prepares for his first season with his new club, he addressed all of the Fields hype, and he doesn’t seem concerned.

The Chicago Bears have a quarterback dilemma on their hands.

The Bears acquired Dalton this summer and anointed him QB1 after a couple unsuccessful seasons with 2017 No. 2 overall NFL Draft selection Mitchell Trubisky.

Dalton, a three-time Pro Bowl quarterback, has passed for 33,764 yards and 218 touchdowns in his career. In his first five seasons in the NFL, he also guided the Cincinnati Bengals to five straight postseason berths.

We’ve all seen Dalton’s ceiling, however. He’s a competent quarterback who may have gotten too much of the criticism in Cincinnati, but he’s not the kind of player who can turn around a club. As a result, it seems like the Bears selected former Ohio State quarterback Justin Fields with the No. 11 overall selection in the 2021 NFL Draft based solely on that information.

Fields led Ohio State to two College Football Playoff berths by throwing for 5,373 yards, 63 touchdowns, and nine interceptions in 22 games. In Columbus, he demonstrated that he has unlimited potential and has the skills that NFL clubs want in a quarterback: a strong arm and the ability to maneuver about the pocket with ease.

Fields eventually excelled during OTAs with the Bears, and the coaching staff has heaped praise on him so far, prompting speculation that he might dethrone Dalton as the starter.

However, head coach Matt Nagy has said unequivocally this summer that Dalton is the starting quarterback, giving Dalton the confidence to disregard any Fields hype.

Andy Dalton is unconcerned about the Justin Fields craze.

The Bears, like the rest of the league, are presently in the midst of training camp, thus Dalton addressed all of the hoopla around Fields as the club prepares for the 2021 season.

According to ESPN, Dalton remarked, “It (the attention) comes with that position.” “He was drafted first overall. That is something I am aware of. However, I am aware that I am the beginning. I understand; I was aware that I had signed a one-year contract. Regardless of the circumstances, I knew I was going to come in and be the starter. That’s where I’m concentrating.”

“I’m not concerned about all the things that’s going to happen with Justin because it doesn’t impact me,” he added. At the end of the day, it’s what I’m going to do and how I’m going to accomplish it. Justin and I have a great connection, and I try to assist him as much as possible.”

Dalton also seems to be aware that fans will be rooting for Fields during training camp, but he hopes they will also be rooting for him.

According to ESPN, Dalton stated, “I’m sure I’ll be making huge plays, too, and maybe they’ll be applauding at the same time.” “Hopefully, as the starter, they’ll realize that if I’m making huge plays, it’s beneficial for everyone.”

Dalton seems to be comfortable in his role as quarterback number one.

Is Justin Fields capable of unseating Andy Dalton as the Bears’ starting quarterback?

“Matt Nagy should be considering the question, “Who can rescue my job?” If I’m Matt Nagy, I’m hoping Justin Fields wins the starting job, and if I’m a Chicago Bears fan, I’m hoping he does.” Justin Fields should be the starting in Chicago as soon as possible, according to @Realrclark25 pic.twitter.com/UxdRVvknP4

Nagy has made it obvious that Dalton is the team’s starting quarterback during the summer. Nagy was a member of the Kansas City Chiefs’ coaching staff during Patrick Mahomes’ first season, so he saw firsthand how they went from Alex Smith to Mahomes.

However, his most recent remarks have left the door open for Fields to start the season for the club.

According to the Chicago Sun-Times, Nagy has accepted the idea that Fields might make things interesting with strong performances in training camp and the preseason.

“Wow, that would be fantastic. According to the Sun-Times, Nagy replied, “That would be great.” “Believe me when I say that I, like everyone else in this city, want Justin Fields to be electrifying. That’s what we’re all hoping for.”

“But we’re concerned about today – that’s all we can do,” Nagy added. You’ve all heard Giannis [Antetokounmpo’s] remark about not dwelling on the past. That will be hung in all four of my children’s rooms because “we can’t worry about the past; you can’t worry about the future; all we can do is live in the now.”

For the time being, it seems like Dalton has the upper hand over Fields this season. Fields, on the other hand, is the Bears’ quarterback of the future, and the possibility of his starting in 2021 seems to be somewhat open.
