For the second year in a row, the Phoenix Suns beat the Los Angeles Lakers in the Western Conference Finals. This year, it wasn’t even close. They beat them 4-2, and on their way they pulled down 36 rebounds, held LeBron James to a single assist, and also had 10 steals.

This past weekend, the Denver Nuggets won their first playoff series in 11 years by defeating the Los Angeles Lakers in five games. This marks the first time a team with a losing record has won a playoff series since the 2009 Cleveland Cavaliers.

In the most bizarre playoff series in NBA history, Devin Booker and the Phoenix Suns managed to beat LeBron James and the Los Angeles Lakers. It was the first time in league history that a team came back from a 3–1 deficit to take a series. And it was the first time that an underdog team beat a favorite in a playoff series. If there was any doubt that Booker is destined for the Hall of Fame, this series should have been the turning point.. Read more about laker and let us know what you think.

Before the 2021 NBA Playoffs, LeBron James had made it to the postseason 14 times and had never been eliminated in the first round. That changed last week, when Devin Booker and the second-seeded Phoenix Suns knocked LeBron and the Los Angeles Lakers out of the West Conference and easily eliminated the defending champions in six games. But Booker not only helped make history by beating James in the first round, he also took a unique souvenir from King that would be worth only a penny if he ever decided to part with it.

He led the Suns to a six-game winning streak. The two-time All-Star averaged 29.7 points, hit 48.8 percent from the field, 42.9 percent from the three-point line and 93.8 percent from the free throw line, and added 6.2 rebounds and five assists per game. And the speech at the end of the episode? Booker was phenomenal in Game 6. He scored 47 points (22 in the first quarter alone), went 15-of-22 from beyond the arc, 8-of-10 from the field and 9-of-9 from the charity stripe and led the Suns to a 113-100 victory and the team’s first postseason series win since 2010. James, who finished with 29 points, nine rebounds and seven assists in the lost Game 6, must have been impressed, because he gave the 24-year-old a jersey from that historic loss.

James gave Booker his last match shirt with the number 23

After Game 6, James had nothing but good things to say about the young man who had just knocked him out of the first round of the playoffs for the first time (h/t ESPN). I love everything about the D book. We have had many conversations in the past. If you want to become a legend in this game, you have to constantly improve, not only as a player, but also as a person. All the conversations we’ve had, I can tell you, he’s absorbed them and used them to his advantage. LeBron James on Devin Booker LeBron, clearly impressed with Booker’s play in the series finale, met D-Book in the Staples Center tunnel after the game and gave him his game jersey, which is now a common practice in the NBA. This jersey is a little more special because James not only signed it, but also personally handed it to Booker. Most of the letters are hard to make out in the photo above, but you can clearly see the letters To DBook to the right of the NBA logo. What makes this jersey even more special than the is the fact that this is the last jersey with the game number 23 that LeBron will wear with the Lakers, and possibly the last jersey with the number 23 of his career, as he will return to the number 6 next season (more on that later). It’s unlikely Booker will ever part with such a special gift, but if he ever gets into financial trouble, we’re willing to bet he can make a few pennies by auctioning it off. It was really a great move by LeBron, because he clearly understands what a special talent Booker is, and it should have been a great moment for Booker. Maybe he’ll put them next to the signed sneakers he received from his idol Kobe Bryant after their one-time meeting in March 2016.

Why did LeBron go from number 23 to number 6?

. LeBron’s transition from the number 23 to the number 6 he wore for the Miami Heat began a while ago. He actually wanted to give it to Anthony Davis when AD arrived in Los Angeles two years ago, but the NBA requires players to give at least a year’s notice if they want to change their jersey number. Nike also had some issues with this decision, as they were already releasing clothing for James with the number 23. The change was delayed again when COVID-19 was released, and then the change was delayed to coincide with the release of Space Jam: this summer. A New Legacy , as LeBron will wear number 6 in the film. Statistics provided by Basketball Reference COMPARED TO: LeBron James extends his outstanding NBA MVP streak with his only fifth place finish
