The NFL season is underway, and it’s hard to believe it’s already been nearly a month since the Patriots’ thrilling comeback win in Super Bowl LI. As the Broncos and Panthers gear up for their own Super Bowl run in February, the NFL’s MVP frontrunner is still Tom Brady. Last year’s MVP, Matt Ryan, is off to a slow start as the Falcons’ starting quarterback who is being replaced by Ryan due to injury.

Why would a coach rally around his former player? To get that player to mentor a new crop of quarterbacks, of course!

As the NFL season begins, the Arizona Cardinals head coach has a new reason to be indebted to the New England Patriots quarterback.

Tom Brady changed Bruce Arians life forever when he signed with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers last season. Although it took some time for the legendary quarterback and charismatic head coach to find each other, they were clearly able to build a relationship in their first year together. Fortunately for Arians, TB12 is a gift that always works. After helping a languishing franchise win the championship for the first time in nearly two decades, Brady gave his coach another reason to be forever indebted to him.

Bruce Arians is finally a Super Bowl champion, thanks in large part to TB12

. Before Brady’s arrival, Arians had never come close to a Super Bowl title. During his five years as manager of the Arizona Cardinals, he won 61.9 percent of their regular season games. But during his tenure, the Cardinals played only three playoff games. Arians led Tampa in 2019, but his team did not live up to expectations. Largely due to Jameis Winston’s turnover troubles (he led the NFL with 30 interceptions), the Bucanis finished with a 7-9 record and extended their unbeaten streak to 12. Then everything changed last spring. After Brady decided to leave the New England Patriots team, the Buccaneers seized the opportunity to contract the greatest quarterback of all time in Winston. By persuading the Patriots’ longtime star to sign, Arians and general manager Jason Licht provided the missing piece of the championship puzzle. Although the 68-year-old manager still has a long way to go before he can compete with Bill Belichick’s ring, Arians finally experienced the thrill of lifting the Lombardi Trophy last season. And while Tampa’s defense is being praised for blocking Patrick Mahomes in Super Bowl 55, there’s no doubt that the Buccaneers benefited greatly from Brady’s presence on and off the field.

But as the Bucanis prepare to defend their title, he has another reason to thank the 43-year-old quarterback. Monday, NFL Network reporter Ian Rapoport reported important information about Arians’ financial future. The Bucks agreed to a revised contract for Super Bowl-winner coach Bruce Arians that includes a pay raise, and general manager Jason Licht also reached a new deal that will keep him in Tampa Bay for several more years. Deservedly for the champions, Rapoport tweeted. The Arizona Cardinals had another impressive season in 2017, but it’s only a matter of time before they start to make a big move in the NFL Draft.
